How to Lower an Excessively High Libido

  • Lower animal protein intake because the proteins and hormones found in meats (chicken, beef, pork, and turkey, to name a few) can play a part in increasing testosterone. As a proof, vegans and vegetarians – non-meat eaters – have the tendency to maintain lower testosterone levels compared to their omnivore counterparts. This translates to lower libido for them.
  • Exercise regularly. Frequently working out has been shown in studies to reduce testosterone levels while upping cortisol. For instance, marathon runners are seen to have testosterone levels that are lower than average.
  • Try herbal alternatives, such as the herb caste tree berry. This lesser-known supplement has been traditionally used (in fact since the Middle Ages) for the purpose of combating very high libido.
  • Consult your doctor to see potential underlying reasons for your condition. Your healthcare provider will look into your medical history, drug intake, and other factors that can determine why you’re having beyond-normal libido levels. He or she may prescribe a medication to address your overactivity.
