  • Heart disease – Large amounts of sugar consumed translate to reduced high density lipoprotein levels and increased triglyceride levels. These two elements are instrumental to the onset of heart disease. Too much sugar can result in being overweight, raising your risk of cardiovascular disease. The American Heart Association states that cardiovascular disease affects a greater number of men than non-menopausal women.
  • Cancer – According to the American Cancer Society, prostate cancer is the second most common form of cancer in America. It is also the second highest cause for mortality, next to lung cancer. But sugar is a something you’d want to avoid in order to prevent virtually all kinds of cancer. Sugar is a major fuel for cancerous cells, which thrive greatly when fed. In order to avoid this situation, minimize your stress, exercise regularly, and eat a balanced diet.
